hello, sunshine

Dear family, friends, and friendly followers,

It's been a minute. My last post was in April, an entire season ago and since then I have received all necessary governmental paperwork proving my identity, thank goodness! The time has flown, the heat has arrived- well, it arrived in May- and the days are now getting shorter since the summer solstice on June 21st.

I've missed you, I've wondered when and if I'd get back to you and what it would look like when I did. I kind of pulled a French fade on you all- not really saying goodbye after a good time. I offer my sincere apologies. It wasn't intentional, but it wasn't unintentional either.

I've been focusing on my book. A practice that is not easy to pop in and out of. The writing has been one giant lesson in staying power, focus, grit, patience, forgiveness and faith- and I don't even know when I will be finished! But I am trusting that the seeds I am planting will germinate and I will have "something" to show for it, be it for publication or for my very own bookshelf (though I really do hope to publish!). That said, I think I have come up with an idea to stay connected to St. Sunshine fans.

Almost every morning I'm home I take a photo of the sunrise. It's become a ritual that I share here and there, to let dear ones know I'm thinking of them when the sun crests over Peterborg at 5:58am. I'm either just beginning or almost done with my morning pages, animal wisdom card reading and meditation. With the intense heat, I have found myself waking in the dark closer to 5am and tenderly walking out to the rocks, watching the sky turn from indigo to lavender to a blushing dusty rose. Each sunrise is a holy miracle and morning hug. And as I've been guilting over dropping the ball I thought to myself, "Well, this taking photos of sunrises kinda sounds like something St. Sunshine would do. Right?"

My plan is to offer glimpses of the prose that's making its way to my pages or offer an inspiration that's getting me through the prose, along with a shot of the morning sun that will hopefully draw awe and wonder for your week ahead.

So, here we go, beginning a new chapter. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Your support always lights me up.

Sharing sunshine and gratitude,

St. Sunshine
